The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McVey looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from McVey.

Lee shoots in for a takedown but McVey shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
McVey shoots for a double leg takedown but Lee sprawls well. He's pushed McVey's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
McVey tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten McVey somewhat.

Lee lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Lee looks to land a combination but McVey avoids it well.

and Lee connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lee steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from McVey. That one must have hurt.

and Lee counters with a nice double leg into side control. McVey won't be happy with that.

McVey sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

That was a close round but I would say that Fast Lee will probably get the nod.
