The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shephard stuffs the takedown.
Shephard throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Shephard shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

It looks like Jack Shephard has been cut.
Dolcetti tries to score a power double leg takedown but Shephard sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dolcetti somewhat.

Dolcetti shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shephard but Shephard pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Shephard makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Dolcetti takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Dolcetti takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dolcetti had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shephard defends it easily.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Horrible takedown by Dolcetti or perhaps it was just good defense by Shephard which made him look bad.

Dolcetti manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Shephard manages to get himself to full guard.

Shephard pushes a forearm under Dolcetti's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Dolcetti is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
