PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Repe Sorsa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hessu Hopo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hopo has chosen Bodies as his entrance music. Hessu Hopo told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sorsa throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hopo was covering up waiting for the punch and Sorsa finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Hopo tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Sorsa is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Sorsa avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Sorsa passes into half guard.
Hopo is looking to improve his position.

Hopo actively working from the bottom here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sorsa is trying to control the action in half guard but Hopo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sorsa seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hopo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hopo tries to roll over but Sorsa keeps him under control.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Hopo gets caught flat footed, as Sorsa shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Hopo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sorsa doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Hopo is tightening it up a little... Sorsa has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Sorsa reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Sorsa taps out! nice BJJ there by Hopo!
