The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith fails to land the takedown.

Boulware misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A bone on bone clash there as Boulware blocks the leg kick.
Boulware pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Michael Boulware seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
No joy there for Smith, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nice sprawl there from Boulware as Smith shoots in.

Smith drives through with a takedown into guard.
Smith stops Boulware from standing up.
Smith working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Smith stopping the sweep attempt from Boulware.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but Boulware is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Boulware wants to get back to his feet but Smith is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Smith stands and throws Boulware's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Smith is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Boulware is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Boulware is looking to regain half guard here but Smith keeps moving and retains side control.

Smith tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Smith has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
