PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tatanka Blackfoot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Frito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freddy Frito told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tatanka Blackfoot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frito moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Frito fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Blackfoot sprawls well initially but Frito persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blackfoot is trying to maintain the position but Frito is very close to passing his half guard.
Blackfoot flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Blackfoot trying to control from the bottom.
Blackfoot wants to improve his position but Frito is controlling well.

Frito is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Blackfoot sees it coming and defends easily.
Blackfoot works his way to full guard. Good work.
Frito connects with a couple of short punches.
Frito cracks Blackfoot with a solid left hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blackfoot is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Frito postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Blackfoot is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Frito, into his guard.
Blackfoot postures up and lands a big shot to Frito's brow.
Blackfoot is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Frito working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Blackfoot doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Blackfoot manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Blackfoot wants to pass the guard but Frito is keeping the position.

Frito is looking for a triangle but Blackfoot pushes his legs off easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Blackfoot slips nicely into half guard.
Blackfoot looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Frito with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Frito is trying to get back to full guard.
Blackfoot passes to full mount!
Blackfoot connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Frito is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Blackfoot locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Frito is forced to tap!
