PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kananga Vasco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasco comes to the cage accompanied by Whiskey in the Jar. Bruno Maia told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

Vasco shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Maia manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Maia escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Vasco gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Maia bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vasco's guard.
Maia slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Maia drops back, looking for a kneebar! Vasco looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Vasco looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Vasco!

Vasco is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Maia knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
