PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ken Ken (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hulk Hogan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hogan has chosen The real American as his entrance music. Hogan has a pretty significant injury - he really shouldn't be fighting right now but he's a warrior and he's here none the less! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Ken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hulk Hogan!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, George Francis and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ken is looking to clinch.
Hogan looks gassed!
Ken shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hogan defends it nicely.
Ken could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ken throws a head kick but Hogan moves out of range.
Ken fails with the takedown.
Ken is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ken shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Ken. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hogan moves out of range of the body kick.
Hogan misses with a takedown attempt - Ken sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

and Hogan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ken won't be happy with that.

Hogan creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Ken sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Hogan has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Ken is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hogan off and has taken his back!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ken goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Hogan turns into him and now he's in Ken's guard.

A close round but Hulk Hogan will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Hogan takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Ken scores with a couple of short elbows.
Ken misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ground and pound from Ken seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Ken is trying to get an arm triangle but Hogan is defending well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ken tries for a kimura but Hogan is defending well.

Ken goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hogan rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Ken's guard! Nice work there by Hogan!
Ken wants to control but Hogan passes easily into half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hogan thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Ken to regain full guard.
Ken has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Hogan trying to control the position from guard on top but Ken is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ken is trying to control the position but Hogan postures up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hogan content to stall in guard here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ken Ken dominated that second round.
The cut man is working on Hulk Hogan's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Ken clinches but Hogan breaks the clinch

and Hogan decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ken's guard.
Ken not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hogan takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Ken has control of Hogan's left arm, preventing Hogan from doing any damage.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Ken Ken just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Ken drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Ken in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

Check out the look on Ken's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Ken postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Ken scores with a couple of short elbows.

Hogan wants to control but Ken postures up.
Ken throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Hogan works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.
Hogan has his hands clasped together around Ken's back. He's all about the action.
Hogan is looking to control Ken's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hogan avoid being mounted?

Ken is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Ken moves in looking to clinch but Hogan pushes him off.
Hogan blocks a head kick by Ken.
Ken with a lazy takedown attempt

and Hogan counters by moving into the clinch.
Ken tries for a takedown. No joy.
Hogan is working for takedown but Ken is calmly controlling the position for now.

Hogan gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Hogan with a flurry of punches that miss.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Hulk Hogan.
I think Hogan has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
