Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Steel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Karsa Orlong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Karsa Orlong will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Karsa Orlong!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Orlong or perhaps it was just good defense by Steel which made him look bad.
Orlong tries to clinch up but Steel circles away and keeps his distance.
Steel misses with a takedown
and Orlong counters with a nice uppercut.
Steel with a lazy takedown attempt
letting Orlong counter with a right hand.
Orlong displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Steel.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Steel. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Steel scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Orlong kicks off Steel and gets to his feet.

Orlong has Steel up against the cage in a clinch.

Steel prevents Orlong from improving his position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Steel performing his best blanket impression for a moment.

Orlong is trying to stand up here but Steel is controlling him well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Orlong wants to get back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jason Steel will probably get the nod.

Steel fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Orlong avoids it really well and circles away.
Steel misses with a takedown

and Orlong counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Orlong trying to control but Steel is working from the bottom.
Orlong trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Orlong throws and elbow that misses. Steel uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Orlong's guard. Nice move by Steel!

Steel wants to control from the top but Orlong keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Orlong wants to get back to his feet but Steel passes into half guard.
Steel passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Orlong!

Orlong is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Steel controlling from the full mount.
Steel has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Karsa Orlong showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Steel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Orlong sprawls well. Orlong wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Steel gets slowly back to his feet.
No luck for Steel with that takedown attempt.
Steel shoots in for a double leg but Orlong sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Steel. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Steel shoots in and bounces Orlong off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Steel stops Orlong from standing up.

Orlong is trying to control the position but Steel postures up.

Orlong wriggles free and stands up.
Steel misses with a takedown attempt - Orlong sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Steel scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Orlong tries to improve position but can't.

Steel advances to full mount.
Jason Steel overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Orlong tries to hold on but Steel pushes him away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Orlong is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Steel is staying active.
Steel controlling from the full mount.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Orlong slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jason Steel showed his dominance in that final round.
