Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Goran Drivnic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andre Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Young closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Drivnic to the mat! Drivnic manages to get full guard.
Young postures up in Drivnic's guard and throws a big left but Drivnic blocks it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Young tries to score a power double leg takedown but Drivnic sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Young somewhat.

Drivnic closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Young gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Drivnic regains guard.

Drivnic wants to sweep but no luck.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Young accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Young avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Drivnic has momentary wrist control but Young slips an elbow through the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Young counters with a nice double leg into side control. Drivnic won't be happy with that.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Young connects with a nice short shot to Drivnic's temple.

Young uses his free foot to push down on Drivnic's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Drivnic.

Drivnic is desperately trying to improve his position but Young has a good base and remains in mount.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Young turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Young manages to end up in side control.

Young has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Young looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Drivnic with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Drivnic has hold of Young's hands but Young slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Young escapes and gets back to his feet.

Young shoots in and bounces Drivnic off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Young has his foot on Drivnic's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Drivnic works his way back into a safe position though.

Well Young has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
