Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tiernan Conan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simo Luoma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simo Luoma has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tiernan Conan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Simo Luoma!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Mauricio Rocha and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Luoma drives through with a takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Luoma wants to pass the guard but Conan is keeping the position.
Conan keeping moving, preventing Luoma from controlling successfully.
Conan wants to stand but Luoma is controlling the position.
Conan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Luoma on the ground.
Conan controls Luoma momentarily but Luoma frees himself.
Luoma stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Conan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Luoma with a flurry of punches that miss.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Luoma circles away from the clinch attempt.
Conan is looking to clinch but Luoma is avoiding it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Conan is looking to clinch.
Luoma shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Conan but Conan pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Luoma avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Conan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Luoma paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Conan lands a head kick!
Nice takedown defense from Conan. No joy for Luoma on that attempt.

Luoma instigates a clinch.
Stalling in the clinch from Luoma.
Conan prevents Luoma from breaking the clinch.
Conan using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Luoma has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Luoma drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tiernan Conan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Simo Luoma.
Conan throws a knee to the head but misses.
Conan is breathing heavily.
Conan tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Luoma looks to throw an elbow but misses.

Luoma is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Conan can't fight it off and eventually Luoma manages to take the fight to the floor. Conan looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Luoma passes Conan's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Conan is not content to let Luoma control the position.
Conan is looking to escape.
Luoma wants to lay and pray for a moment but Conan keeps working.

Luoma stands up out of the half guard.

Luoma has managed to clinch.
Luoma can't break the clinch.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Conan.
Luoma wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Conan has him pressed against the cage.
Luoma wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Luoma wants to break free but Conan has control.
Luoma has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Conan avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Conan blocks an elbow strike.
Conan with a knee to the head.
Conan lands a big knee to the head and Luoma goes down! Conan pounces and finishes the fight with strikes! He jumps to his feet and celebrates with the crowd!
