Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joh Jah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gerard Merde!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jah scores with the left hand. Merde knows he should have avoided that one.
Merde walks into a jab.
Gerard Merde seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Merde misses with a straight right.
Jah motions for Merde to come forward. Jah throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Merde takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.


It looks like Gerard Merde has been cut.
Jah steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Merde.
Jah moves out of range of the strikes.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Merde is defended easily by Jah.
Merde closes the distance and clinches up with Jah, looking for a takedown. Merde pushes Jah against the cage but Jah circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A swing and a miss from Merde.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jah stuffs the takedown attempt from Merde. Merde gets slowly back to his feet.
Joh Jah has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gerard Merde.
Merde misses with an uppercut. Jah saw that one coming.
Horrible takedown by Merde or perhaps it was just good defense by Jah which made him look bad.
Merde fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Merde takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Jah displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Merde.
Merde closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jah circles away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jah uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Merde.
Jah lands the left hand.
Jah avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Merde will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A left lands for Jah.
Jah throws a combination. Merde tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Merde drops his hands momentarily and Jah takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Merde tries for a takedown but Jah sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jah misses the jab.
Jah throws the left hand but Merde avoids the punch easily.
A nice combination there by Jah.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jah fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Merde throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Jah was covering up waiting for the punch and Merde finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jah throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Jah wants to sweep but no luck.
Merde postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Merde accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Jah working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Merde.
Merde throws and elbow that misses. Jah uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Merde's guard. Nice move by Jah!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Merde looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Jah is looking to work some ground and pound but Merde has wrist control.
Merde working a defensive guard here.
Merde avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Merde wants to sweep here but Jah controlling him for the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jah connects with a good right hand that stumbles Merde. Merde circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Merde throws a big shot that misses.
Merde is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jah.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Jah. Merde shrugs it off though.
Merde looks gassed!
A jab lands there for Jah.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joh Jah dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Gerard Merde's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


A solid leg kick lands there for Jah.

Jah drops Merde with a beautiful combination! Merde stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Jah is looking for the KO!


Merde is rocked!
Jah is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Jah lands with a right that hurts Merde. Merde looks to clinch but Jah throws a short knee that drops Merde. This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch and Knee). Joh Jah!
