Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Slapper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Slapper might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to beep beep i'm a jeep. James is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Ballad of Jesse James. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Billy Slapper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jesse James!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Paulo Santos and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slapper misses with a two punch combination.
James sizes up Slapper with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
James connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Slapper's hands.
Slapper lands with a nice body punch.
Slapper slips a jab from James.
James avoids the head kick by Slapper.
James looks to score with a jab to the body but Slapper is just out of range.
Slapper misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
James connects with the punch.

Slapper drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Slapper loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Slapper is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
James has his hands on Slapper's head, controlling the position.
Slapper tries to free his leg and advance position but James is retaining full guard.

Slapper drops back looking for a leg! James is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and James manages to kick Slapper off! Slapper jumps back into James's guard.

Slapper is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
James slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
James avoids the body shot from Slapper.
Slapper is looking to land body kicks.
James thows a left - swing and a miss!

Slapper changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. James looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Slapper tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Slapper has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
James is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Slapper has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
James is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Slapper's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Slapper's back!

James is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Slapper has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
James is trying to stick to Slapper's back but Slapper is turning into James. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in James's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Slapper.

Slapper looks to land a left hand but James moved out of range nicely.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Donk. James catches Slapper right on the button with a cross.
James on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Slapper dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Slapper swings for the body but James moves out of range.
James lands the left hand.
James lands with a right hand.

Slapper moves into range and clinches up with James.
Slapper misses with a shot to the kidneys.

James pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

James gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

James is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Slapper is aware though and is defending well.
Slapper stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. James swivels though and keeps the full guard.

James connects with a looping right hand.

Slapper fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with James, pushing him back against the cage.
Slapper tries to pull guard but James won't allow it.

Slapper looking to hit a scissor sweep but James is one step ahead there.

Slapper tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Slapper pulls James in close to his closed guard and prevents James from doing any damage or advancing position.
James is stalling in the full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Slapper avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Slapper shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Billy Slapper. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James throws a right and a left that Slapper avoids nicely.
James lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
James scores with a jab to the jaw.
James might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Slapper throws an overhand right that lands on James's shoulder, as James tries to avoid the shot.

Slapper shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

You can see the frustration on James's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

James is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

James attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Slapper throws a combination. James tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Jesse James seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

James is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Slapper, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
