Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gentleman Ghost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Javier Noriega (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gentleman Ghost had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Gentleman Ghost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Javier Noriega!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Felipe Paraventi and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noriega throws a lazy right hand but Ghost sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Noriega thuds his right hand into Ghost's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Ghost scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Noriega manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Ghost seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Noriega does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Noriega is trying to control but can't.
Ghost tries to pass the half guard into mount. Noriega knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Noriega is looking to control Ghost's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Noriega avoid being mounted?

Ghost is looking to advance position but Noriega won't allow it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Ghost bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Noriega's head backwards.

A left lands for Noriega.
Noriega slaps away a takedown attempt from Ghost, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Ghost throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Ghost gets the takedown into side control.
Ghost has control of an arm but Noriega manages to advance to Ghost's back!
Can Ghost hold on?! Noriega is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.

I really don't envy Ghost right now.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Noriega is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Ghost's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Ghost is looking to advance position but Noriega won't allow it.
Still in half guard, Ghost seems content to control.

Noriega is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Noriega has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Ghost escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Ghost!

Ghost creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Ghost landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Noriega manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Noriega tries to pass to full mount but Ghost defends it.
Ghost is looking for a sweep. Noriega is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Noriega is trying to control the action in half guard but Ghost is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Noriega thows a huge punch but Ghost dodges it nicely.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gentleman Ghost dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Ghost shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Ghost was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Noriega tries to improve his position but Ghost has taken his back! Ghost has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Noriega tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Ghost pushes Noriega away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:29 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Gentleman Ghost!
