PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between lenin volodya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cyrille Tixera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). volodya has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Konstantin Menshow.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
volodya changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tixera tries to avoid it but volodya manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tixera to the ground. Tixera escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Tixera closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
volodya is breathing heavily.
Tixera takes a little break here. volodya wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Tixera should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Tixera thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
volodya tries to bench press Tixera off him but Tixera keeps the position.
volodya can't do much from the bottom here.
volodya tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tixera wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
volodya is letting Tixera control him for a moment.
Tixera's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Despite being in the dominant position, Cyrille Tixera just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Tixera drops back looking for a leg! volodya is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and volodya manages to kick Tixera off! Tixera jumps back into volodya's guard.

Tixera throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
volodya with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Tixera to score with a decent uppercut.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

volodya tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Tixera has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Well Tixera has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
