The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marick will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Blachowicz tries for a takedown but Marick circles away easily
and Marick counters with a two punch combo.
Blachowicz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Marick's waist but Marick gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Blachowicz off to one side.
Blachowicz misses with a takedown attempt
and Marick counters with a big head kick but Blachowicz shrugs it off.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jan Blachowicz. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Marick tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Marick bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Blachowicz decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Marick won't allow Blachowicz to pass to mount.
Marick looks gassed!

Blachowicz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Blachowicz is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Marick has managed to free his arm - good work.
Marick really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Blachowicz. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Marick is wriggling around trying to escape.
Blachowicz avoids the attempt from Marick to control.

Blachowicz has isolated one of Marick's arms. Marick looking to fight him off but Blachowicz twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
