Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and todd labod (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kerr might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Smash Your enemies - Hatebreed. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Matt Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 13 - 2, fighting out of Montreal, todd labod!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Robert Douchet and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kerr moves into the clinch.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
labod fails to pull the fight into his guard.

labod tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Kerr avoids it.
Kerr throws an elbow but it's blocked.
labod tries to pull guard but Kerr holds him up against the cage and eventually labod drops back down to his feet.
labod tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Matt Kerr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of todd labod.
Kerr digs a right hand into labod's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on labod's gas tank.
labod is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Kerr is defending well for now.

Kerr has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed labod clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Kerr is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.

labod feints and as Kerr raises his hands in defense, labod changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kerr is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Kerr takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Kerr thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
labod manages to get to full guard.

labod is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
labod controls Kerr momentarily but Kerr frees himself.
Kerr won't allow labod to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kerr accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

labod throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kerr was covering up waiting for the punch and labod finishes the takedown easily into guard.

labod has gone for a leg lock! Kerr slips out almost immediately though and dives into labod's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kerr drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kerr jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

labod fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kerr avoids it really well and circles away.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kerr rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but labod moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

labod smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
labod should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
labod shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kerr pinned against the cage. Kerr gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kerr throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
labod wants to clinch up but Kerr keeps it at a distance.

Kerr tries to close the distance and clinch up but labod swats him away and circles back towards the center.
labod displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
labod misses with a series of wild punches.
Matt Kerr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kerr throws a leg kick which misses labod's front leg but catches the back leg as labod tries to avoid it.
Kerr fails in his attempt to clinch.
labod tries to clinch but Kerr is having none of it.

Kerr fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with labod, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kerr goes for a takedown attempt but labod pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Matt Kerr.
Well Kerr has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
