The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Leandro Rodrigues and Alexandre Firmino.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thurtz moves in looking to clinch but Alberto pushes him off.
Thurtz stuffs the takedown attempt from Alberto. Alberto gets slowly back to his feet.
Thurtz fails to land with a series of punches.
Michel Thurtz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Alberto finds it's way through Thurtz's defenses.
Alberto misses with a takedown attempt - Thurtz sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Thurtz throws a jab when Alberto was well out of range.
The fight stays on the outside here - Alberto looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Alberto lands a right hook to the body.

Alberto closes the distance and clinches.
Thurtz wants to get back to striking at distance but Alberto won't allow it.

Alberto manages to break the clinch.
Alberto tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Thurtz paws at him with a jab and circles away.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Alberto.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Carlos Alberto. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Alberto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Thurtz bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

It looks like Carlos Alberto has been cut.
Alberto really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Thurtz cracks a nice hook into Alberto's ribs.
Thurtz ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Alberto is breathing heavily.
Thurtz lands an overhand right.
Alberto takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Thurtz lunges at Alberto with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Alberto's hand.
Alberto circles away from the clinch attempt.
Thurtz throws out a loose jab but Alberto uses good head movement to avoid it.
Alberto looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Thurtz is fending him off so far but Alberto persists. Nope, Thurtz circles away and we're back to standing.

and Thurtz counters with a big slam followed by a series of strikes - this one is all over!
