PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Byakko Doragon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tahei Uchido (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tahei Uchido will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Uchido, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Uchido lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Doragon has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Doragon and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Doragon tries for a takedown but Uchido sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Uchido throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Doragon stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Uchido shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Doragon as he jumps to the side.
No luck for Uchido with that takedown attempt.
Uchido lands with a right hand.
Uchido doesn't manage to clinch there - Doragon circles away.
Doragon walks into a jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Uchido throws a combination. Doragon tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Uchido takes the fight into the clinch.
Oh Doragon is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Uchido misses with an elbow over the top.
Uchido has Doragon pressed against the cage.
Uchido wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Uchido works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Doragon seems to have got his legs back now.
Doragon throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Uchido is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Uchido stands and steps away. Doragon gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Doragon. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Doragon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Doragon wants it to stay on the feet.

Doragon stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Doragon jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Uchido walks away with a smile on his face. Doragon gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Uchido throws a nice looking combination but Doragon bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Uchido lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Doragon backwards.
Uchido keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Doragon's efforts to push away.
Uchido wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Doragon has him pressed against the cage.

Doragon is looking to work some ground and pound but Uchido has wrist control.
Uchido is looking to stand up but Doragon isn't so interested in that idea.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Doragon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Uchido paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Uchido is pressed up against the cage. Doragon has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Uchido down to the mat. Uchido avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Uchido tries to close the distance and clinch but Doragon swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Uchido turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Uchido manages to end up in side control.

Uchido decides to stand up, so the ref orders Doragon to his feet.

Uchido tries to clinch up but Doragon circles away and keeps his distance.

Uchido scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Doragon drops back looking for a leg! Uchido is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Uchido manages to kick Doragon off! Doragon jumps back into Uchido's guard.

Doragon decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Uchido, up you get!

Uchido has hold of Doragon's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Doragon manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well Uchido has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
