Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kenny Powers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ernesto Hoost!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoost misses with a head kick.
Hoost throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Powers fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hoost sprawls well initially but Powers persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Hoost pushes Powers off but Powers dives into side control.

Powers looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Powers is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hoost will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Powers wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hoost, who protects the arm well.

Powers takes a little break here. Hoost wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Powers is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hoost knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Hoost really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Powers. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Powers feints and as Hoost raises his hands in defense, Powers changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Hoost should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Powers is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Powers stops Hoost from standing up.

Well, if Powers is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Hoost is staying active underneath Powers, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Hoost is not content to let Powers control the position.
Powers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Hoost throws a head kick but Powers moves out of range.

Hoost tries to land a front kick but Powers steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Powers is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Hoost.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Powers.
Powers tries to advance to mount but Hoost denies him.
Powers remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Hoost takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Powers moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Hoost has worked his arm free - good work by Hoost!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Powers working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Ernesto Hoost has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Kenny Powers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Powers postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Powers, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
