Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Hanzo Hasashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joao Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hasashi's entrance music is Into the Battlefield. A fine choice. Alves has chosen Carl Orff - Carmina Burana - André Rieu's version as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Hanzo Hasashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Joao Alves!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Seu Braga and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hasashi swats away the attempt to clinch by Alves.

Alves has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Alves wants to control the pace but Hasashi is squirming around nicely.
Hasashi is looking to improve his position but Alves isn't that keen on the idea.

Joao Alves showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alves has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hasashi uses from the top position.

Alves is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
