PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenyon Harris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Harry Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith has chosen The Ecstasy of Gold as his entrance music. Kenyon Harris looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The judges for this bout are James Glass, William Gold and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith rushes Harris and presses him up against the cage.
Harris could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Harris looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Smith drops down looking for an ankle pick but Harris pulls his leg out and moves away.
Smith looks for a takedown but Harris sprawls well.

Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Smith missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Smith lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Smith wants to take a breather but Harris is having none of it.
Well, if Smith is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Smith thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Smith is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Smith seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Harris does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Smith slips a nice elbow through Harris's hands, connecting with Harris's forehead.

Smith decides to stand up, so the ref orders Harris to his feet.

Smith feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Smith thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Smith is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Harris is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Harris has escaped and now he's on top!

and Harris counters with a solid body kick.

Smith drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Harris gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Smith gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Harris can't do much from the bottom here.

Smith has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Harris can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Smith escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Harris gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Harris holds on and takes a little breather.

Harris has his foot on Smith's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Smith works his way back into a safe position though.

Smith postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Harris is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Smith, into his guard.
