Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Danny Gibbs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jang Jung (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gibbs comes to the cage accompanied by Sandstorm. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Danny Gibbs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jang Jung!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jung throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Jung tries to clinch there but Gibbs circles away.
Gibbs works over Jung's head and body with a nice combination.
Jung lands a right hook to the body.
Jung misses with a double jab.
Gibbs avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Jung closes the distance and clinches.
Gibbs goes for a takedown in the clinch but Jung prevents it.
Jung lands a hook that snaps the head of Gibbs backwards.

Gibbs pulls guard successfully.

Gibbs has his feet on Jung's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Jung takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.

Jung goes for a takedown attempt but Gibbs pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jung can do anything to dispel that myth.
Gibbs wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jung keeps working.

Gibbs decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Gibbs misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Jung has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Jung there as he acknowledges the shot.
Jung throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Gibbs counters with a nice double leg into side control. Jung won't be happy with that.

Gibbs trying to control the action but Jung is working from the bottom.
Gibbs creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jung takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Jung regains half guard, as Gibbs was trying to land strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jung shoots for a takedown but Gibbs saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Gibbs shoots in for a double leg but Jung sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Gibbs closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jung did well to prevent Gibbs getting side control.

Gibbs slips a nice elbow through Jung's hands, connecting with Jung's forehead.

Jung is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Gibbs slows the pace down in half guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Gibbs gets a clinch.
Gibbs avoids the elbow strike from Jung, against the cage.

Jung breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jung missing with a left hand there. Gibbs was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
The fighters circle momentarily. Gibbs darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Gibbs is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Jung doesn't manage to clinch there - Gibbs circles away.
Jung throws a sloppy head kick and Gibbs moves out of range easily.

Gibbs is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jung's half guard.
Danny Gibbs overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Gibbs winds up and cracks Jung with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Gibbs is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Jung sees it coming and defends easily.
Gibbs will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Gibbs is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jung is just riding it out for now. Gibbs eventually gives up the hold.
Jung looks like he's trying to stand up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gibbs is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Jung doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gibbs.

Jung jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gibbs walks away with a smile on his face. Jung gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Jung tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Gibbs closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jung did well to prevent Gibbs getting side control.
Jung takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Gibbs controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gibbs thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jung's head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gibbs content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Gibbs not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Jung won't allow Gibbs to pass to mount.
Gibbs throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Gibbs perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Gibbs is looking for a kimura here.

Gibbs is working for a kimura but Jung is defending it quite comfortably.

Gibbs is looking to take a break and control but Jung is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Danny Gibbs is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Gibbs looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gibbs seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jung for as long as he can get away with.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
