Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between DJ Wegesin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daisu Miyagi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DJ Wegesin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daisu Miyagi!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miyagi lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Miyagi.
Wegesin fails to land the takedown.
Miyagi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Wegesin fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Wegesin tries for a takedown but Miyagi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Miyagi clinches up against the cage.
Miyagi has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Wegesin avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Miyagi tries to land a knee to the head but Wegesin blocks with his arms.
Wegesin tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Miyagi just stands there and leans against the cage.

Miyagi gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Miyagi would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Wegesin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Miyagi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Miyagi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Miyagi drops back looking for a leg! Wegesin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wegesin manages to kick Miyagi off! Miyagi jumps back into Wegesin's guard.
Miyagi wants to stand but Wegesin is controlling his posture from full guard.

Miyagi avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Miyagi stands and steps away. Wegesin gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Miyagi throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Miyagi gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
It looks like Miyagi is going to stand back up.
Wegesin is trying to get back to full guard.

Miyagi prevents Wegesin from improving his position.

Miyagi stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Miyagi looks to land a body kick but Wegesin moved away.

and Miyagi counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Miyagi.

Miyagi must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

That's time! Wegesin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


A solid leg kick lands there for Miyagi.
Miyagi explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Wegesin tries for a takedown but Miyagi circles away easily

and Miyagi counters by moving into the clinch.

Wegesin is fighting off a takedown attempt but Miyagi is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Wegesin to the mat. Wegesin regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Wegesin has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Miyagi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
