Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Dean (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Duddits (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Duddits!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Colin Fotheringham and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dean shoots in for a takedown but Duddits shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Duddits keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Dean wants to land a leg kick but Duddits is out of range.
Dean showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Duddits.
Dean misses with a takedown attempt - Duddits sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Horrible takedown by Dean or perhaps it was just good defense by Duddits which made him look bad.

and Duddits counters with a crisp one two that drops Dean! Duddits thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Dean to his feet! Dean is in big trouble!

Jimmy Dean seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice uppercut lands for Duddits. That snapped Dean's head back.

Duddits displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Dean.

Dean ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Duddits moves away.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Dean. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Duddits tries to bum rush Dean with a series of wild strikes but Dean uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Dean shoots in looking for a takedown. Duddits tries to sprawl out of it but Dean keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Duddits manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Duddits lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Dean is defended easily by Duddits.

This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Dean might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.

Dean will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Michael Duddits seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Dean drops his hands momentarily and Duddits takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Duddits throws an overhand right that lands on Dean's shoulder, as Dean tries to avoid the shot.

Dean scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Duddits wants to control but Dean postures up.
Duddits wants to get back to his feet but Dean is dominant here and he's now got Duddits's back!

Duddits wants to escape the position.
Duddits manages to reverse the position and now he's in Dean's guard. Nice work there by Duddits.
Duddits controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Duddits wants to control from the top but Dean keeps moving.
Duddits slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Duddits wants to stand but Dean has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Michael Duddits showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Duddits might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Duddits throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Duddits swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Dean.
Duddits has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Dean uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Duddits.
Dean closes this distance looking for a takedown but Duddits circles away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jimmy Dean has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Duddits circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Dean to the canvas! Dean doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Duddits keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
