The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nowitzki moves out of range of the strikes.
Dixion throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Some wild striking there from Dixion.
No luck for Nowitzki with that takedown attempt.
Nowitzki closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dixion circles away.
Dixion will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Dan Dixion seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dixion tries to close the distance and clinch but Nowitzki swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

It looks like Fred Nowitzki has been cut.
Nowitzki is breathing heavily.
Dixion lands with a nice combination. Nowitzki backs away looking to recover.
Dixion looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Nowitzki shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dixion as he jumps to the side.
Dixion swats away the attempt to clinch by Nowitzki.

Dixion misses with a series of wild punches.
A slow jab from Dixion misses its intended target.
Nowitzki avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dixion stalks Nowitzki and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nowitzki's face. Nowitzki staggers backwards, shaken.
Dixion swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Nowitzki. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Dixion fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Nowitzki keeps the fight on the outside.
