Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Franek Kimono!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paul Fischster!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Shimada and Hirohito Nitta.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kimono swats away the attempt to clinch by Fischster.
Kimono misses with a head kick.
Fischster lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Kimono pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kimono tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Fischster moves into the clinch.

Kimono wants to get up but he can't break Fischster's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Fischster uses the ropes to get back to his feet.

Fischster has his foot on Kimono's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kimono works his way back into a safe position though.

and Fischster makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Kimono tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Kimono lands a nice looking body kick.
Franek Kimono is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kimono doesn't manage to clinch there - Fischster circles away.
Kimono stalks Fischster and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Fischster's face. Fischster staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Paul Fischster has been cut.
Fischster is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kimono.

Kimono fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Kimono looks to land a body kick but Fischster moved away.
Kimono cracks Fischster with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
Kimono throws a series of strikes that have Fischster backpedaling.

Kimono lands a big head kick that sends Fischster tumbling to the mat! Kimono takes a step backwards and waves Fischster back to his feet - he wants the finish!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kimono pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Fischster stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Kimono.

Kimono forces Fischster back against the ropes and clinches.
Fischster has Kimono pressed against the ropes, preventing Kimono from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Kimono tries to circle away but Fischster has him pinned against the ropes.
Kimono tries to break free but Fischster pushes him back against the ropes.

Kimono's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Kimono gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Fischster drops down looking for an ankle pick but Kimono pulls his leg out and moves away.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Kimono counters with a nice leg kick.
Kimono throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kimono looks to clinch

and Fischster holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Kimono wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Fischster has him pressed against the ropes.
A frustrated look appears on Kimono's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Fischster decides to pull guard.
Kimono won't allow Fischster to sweep him here.
Kimono wanted to stand there but Fischster had control of the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fischster is breathing heavily.

Fischster is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Kimono throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Kimono clinches up against the ropes.
Fischster keeps control of Kimono as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Fischster has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kimono has had enough of the clinch but Fischster keeps him there for the moment.

Fischster breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A good leg kick by Kimono.
Kimono will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Fischster goes for a takedown attempt but Kimono pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Kimono dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Fischster. That did some damage!

Thud! ouch! good body kick from Kimono - that will leave a mark!
Kimono tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Kimono throws a head kick but Fischster moves out of range.

and Fischster counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Fischster.
Fischster has Kimono pressed against the ropes, preventing Kimono from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Kimono escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fischster avoids the head kick by Kimono.
Kimono throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Good leg kick by Kimono there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Franek Kimono seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kimono moves away from the strike by Fischster.
Fischster has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Fischster there as he acknowledges the shot.


That has opened up Paul Fischster's cut even more.
Kimono swinging wildly here.

Kimono goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Kimono looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Fischster crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kimono - the referee stops the clock and Fischster gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kimono. Fischster manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kimono.
Kimono lands with a kick to the temple. Fischster shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Franek Kimono is winning the standup battle so far.
Kimono lunges at Fischster with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Fischster's hand.
Kimono tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Fischster fails with a takedown attempt.
Franek Kimono has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Fischster.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Fischster takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Paul Fischster's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

Fischster throws a combination that misses
enabling Kimono to counter with a crisp jab.
Kimono throws a right and a left that both miss.
Kimono misses with a kick to the body.
Fischster shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kimono as he jumps to the side.

Kimono connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Franek Kimono is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Fischster has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Kimono.

and Kimono counters with a good, hard body kick but Fischster shrugs it off.

Fischster seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kimono wants to get back to his feet.
Paul Fischster has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Franek Kimono is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kimono throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

And that's the end of the fight!
Franek Kimono showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kimono, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
