Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Yu Pu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Freddy Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Evans has chosen "A Country Boy Can Survive" by Hank Williams Jr. as his entrance music. Freddy Evans has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Yu Pu's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yu Pu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Freddy Evans!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Pu tries to avoid it but Evans manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Pu to the ground. Pu escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Evans shoots in and drives through. Pu sprawls well.
Pu just misses with a punch to the body.
Evans uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Pu.
Pu looks to score with a jab to the body but Evans is just out of range.
Pu misses with an uppercut. Evans saw that one coming.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Evans cracks Pu with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Pu swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Evans shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Despite being in the dominant position, Freddy Evans just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Evans shoots in and drives through. Pu sprawls well.

Pu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Evans moves away.

Evans swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Pu stuffs the takedown attempt from Evans. Evans gets slowly back to his feet.
Yu Pu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Pu misses the shot to the body.
Evans ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Pu moves away.
Pu misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Evans.

Evans shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pu sprawls well. Pu wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Evans gets slowly back to his feet.

Pu defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Evans.
Evans avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Evans keeps the fight on the outside.
Evans bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Pu is looking to wear down Evans with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Pu throws a lazy right hand but Evans sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Pu throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Evans stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Pu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Evans paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Evans circles away from the clinch attempt.
Evans tries for a takedown but Pu sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pu throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Evans.
Evans will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pu is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Evans's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Pu tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Evans.
Pu leaves Evans with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Pu fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Evans manages to avoid it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Evans shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Evans was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Pu is trying desperately to improve position.
Pu wants to control but Evans is having none of it.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Pu is trying to escape the mount.
Evans looking to ground and pound but Pu is blocking nicely.

Pu wants to control but Evans is having none of it.
Evans content just to control the position here.
Pu wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Evans.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Pu is bucking up trying to escape but Evans cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Evans takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

I would just about give that final round to Freddy Evans.
