PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tamasada Yamada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bogdan Trosin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tamasada Yamada!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bogdan Trosin!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yuuki Gou and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yamada tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Yamada misses with a head kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - Trosin looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Yamada pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Yamada tries to clinch there but Trosin circles away.
Yamada throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Trosin misses with a low kick as Yamada jumps back.
Yamada connects with a jab.

Yamada instigates a clinch.
Yamada tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
Trosin takes an elbow to the temple.
Yamada connects with a nasty looking knee right to Trosin's face.
Trosin is trying to force a seperation but Yamada has the dominant position.

Trosin jumps guard and drags Yamada to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Yamada has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Trosin is proving hard to escape from.
Trosin is looking to stand up but Yamada isn't so interested in that idea.
Yamada throws and elbow that misses. Trosin uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Yamada's guard. Nice move by Trosin!

Trosin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Trosin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Yamada striking off his back but it's not causing Trosin any problems.

Yamada doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.

Yamada looking for a guillotine here but Trosin defends easily.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Trosin shoots in but no luck this time.
Trosin closes this distance looking for a takedown but Yamada circles away.
Trosin closes the distance and clinches up with Yamada, looking for a takedown. Trosin pushes Yamada against the cage but Yamada circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Tamasada Yamada has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bogdan Trosin.
Yamada misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Trosin is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Yamada is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Trosin throws an elbow but Yamada slips to the side and avoids it well.

Trosin wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Yamada, who protects the arm well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Yamada tries to bench press Trosin off him but Trosin keeps the position.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Yamada regains half guard.
Yamada throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nice takedown defense from Yamada. No joy for Trosin on that attempt.
Yamada throws a right and a left that Trosin avoids nicely.
Yamada tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Trosin shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Yamada's guard.

Trosin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Trosin is looking to work some ground and pound but Yamada has wrist control.

Trosin is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Yamada is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Trosin is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Yamada scores with a couple of nice shots.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Trosin can do anything to dispel that myth.
Yamada tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Trosin.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Trosin wants to control but Yamada is keeping busy.

Trosin manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Yamada lands a head kick!
Tamasada Yamada is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Trosin feints and as Yamada raises his hands in defense, Trosin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Trosin has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Yamada looking for a sweep. Not yet Yamada, not yet.

Yamada is working an open guard so Trosin takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
A head kick misses from Yamada.
Trosin tries to close the distance and clinch but Yamada swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Tamasada Yamada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yamada throws a sloppy head kick and Trosin moves out of range easily.
Yamada tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Trosin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Yamada defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tamasada Yamada will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Trosin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Yamada swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Trosin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yamada has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Trosin has managed to get both his arms back between Yamada's legs - danger averted.
Trosin sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Yamada's guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Trosin maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Yamada could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Trosin has cracked it and Yamada is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Trosin!
