Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Rawls (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Fachada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fachada has chosen Rock Superstar as his entrance music. Antonio Fachada will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Rawls!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Antonio Fachada!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fachada wants to clinch up but Rawls keeps it at a distance.
Fachada bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Rawls's head backwards.

Rawls looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Fachada!
Rawls controlling the pace for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee stands the fighters back up. John Rawls just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Fachada tries to buck Rawls off but he can't manage it.

Fachada is trying to stand but he's just given Rawls his back.

What can Fachada do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rawls seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fachada for as long as he can get away with.

The referee stands the fighters back up. John Rawls just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Rawls avoids the body shot from Fachada.
Rawls throws a right hand that Fachada ducks under and follows up with a left that Fachada also avoids with ease.
Fachada misses with a straight right.
Fachada looks gassed!

Rawls shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Rawls is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Fachada!

That's time! Rawls's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Rawls tries to bum rush Fachada with a series of wild strikes but Fachada uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Rawls changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Fachada looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Rawls has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Rawls get's back to his feet.

Rawls is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Fachada's half guard.
Rawls has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Rawls controlling from the full mount.
Fachada is breathing heavily.

Rawls stands up from mount. Strange move.

Fachada pushing out the jab but it's not landing.

Rawls throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fachada was covering up waiting for the punch and Rawls finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Rawls has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
John Rawls overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Fachada is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Rawls slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Rawls moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Fachada misses the jab.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Fachada tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rawls fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Fachada looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Rawls shoots in and bounces Fachada off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Rawls stays in close to Fachada's body and controls the position.

Rawls decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Fachada, up you get!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Rawls dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Rawls shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Fachada takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rawls bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Rawls decides to stand back up. Rawls steps back and let's Fachada get back to his feet.

Rawls remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Rawls decides to stand up, so the ref orders Fachada to his feet.

A quick uppercut on the inside from Rawls.
Fachada wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Rawls has him pressed against the cage.

Rawls turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Rawls has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Fachada is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Rawls yanks on the arm and Fachada is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Rawls.
