PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mors Olle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zacharius Pendragon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Olle might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to enter sandman. Zacharius Pendragon looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mors Olle!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Zacharius Pendragon!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Tiny Johnson and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Olle keeps the fight on the outside.
Olle shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pendragon but Pendragon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Pendragon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Olle closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Olle lands in his opponent's guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pendragon can do anything to dispel that myth.
Olle is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Olle works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Olle wants to control but Pendragon is keeping him busy.
Pendragon misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Olle trying to pass the guard but Pendragon defending well.
Olle is trying to control. Pendragon wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Olle thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Pendragon has hold of Olle's hands but Olle slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Pendragon misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Pendragon looks gassed!
Olle is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Pendragon!

Olle takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Mors Olle just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Olle.
Olle shoots in for a takedown but Pendragon shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mors Olle. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Olle looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pendragon is fending him off so far but Olle persists. Nope, Pendragon circles away and we're back to standing.
Mors Olle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Pendragon tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pendragon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Olle misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Olle shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Pendragon's guard.

Olle shoots in for a double leg but Pendragon sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Olle has Pendragon pulled in close to control his posture.

Olle manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Pendragon manages to get himself to full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Olle gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Pendragon counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Pendragon thows a huge punch but Olle dodges it nicely.

Pendragon wants to get up but he can't break Olle's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pendragon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Olle pulls Pendragon in to control the position.
Olle manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pendragon is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Zacharius Pendragon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Olle will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pendragon stuffs the takedown attempt from Olle. Olle gets slowly back to his feet.
Olle tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pendragon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Olle somewhat.

Pendragon tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Pendragon moves in looking to clinch but Olle pushes him off.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Olle is defended easily by Pendragon.
Olle closes this distance looking for a takedown but Pendragon circles away.
Pendragon leaves Olle with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Olle is in close to Pendragon's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Olle connects with a couple of short punches.
Olle with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Pendragon is trying to keep Olle in close.
Olle pushes down on Pendragon's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Pendragon is looking to control Olle's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Pendragon avoid being mounted?
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Olle in particular looking to stall.

Olle slows the pace down in half guard.
Olle trying to mount his opponent but Pendragon defends it.

Olle feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Olle closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Olle works his foot free and advances to mount.
Pendragon tries to reverse the position but Olle maintains control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Mors Olle showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Olle has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
