The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendez throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lucas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mendez walks into a left hand.
Lucas misses with an attempted mid kick.
Mendez throws a right hand that Lucas ducks under and follows up with a left that Lucas also avoids with ease.
Lucas misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mendez lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Mendez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Lucas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Lucas moves out of range as Mendez strikes.
Lucas does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Mendez fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Lucas looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Lucas lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Lucas explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Mendez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lucas misses with a body kick.
Rodrigo Mendez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lucas closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Lucas lands an elbow inside that Mendez shrugs off.

Mendez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Lucas walks away with a smile on his face. Mendez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Lucas wants to slow Mendez down by chopping away at his legs.
Mendez misses with an uppercut.
Mendez blocks a head kick by Lucas.
Lucas throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Lucas keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mendez thows a body shot but no joy.
Lucas lets loose with a powerful body kick. Mendez will feel that in the morning.
Mendez steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Lucas. That one must have hurt.
Mendez looks gassed!
Lucas throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Mendez slips a jab from Lucas.
Lucas throws a head kick but Mendez moves out of range.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Lucas. Mendez shrugs it off though.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lucas scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Lucas throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mendez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Lucas lands a big head kick that sends Mendez tumbling to the mat! Lucas takes a step backwards and waves Mendez back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Lucas scores with a spinning back kick!
Lucas drops Mendez with a naaaaasty hook - Mendez is in real trouble here! Lucas dives in to side control and pounds out his opponent for a TKO victory! The crowd goes nuts!
