Nicolosi comes to the cage accompanied by Step Down. Mauricio Nicolosi could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Glen Growes's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mauricio Nicolosi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Glen Growes!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Growes misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nicolosi is looking to clinch but Growes is avoiding it.
Nicolosi doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Nicolosi wants to clinch.
Nicolosi lands with a shot to the body.
Growes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nicolosi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Growes paws at him with a jab and circles away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Growes is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Nicolosi sees it coming and defends easily.

Nicolosi kicks Growes off and gets back to his feet.

Growes closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nicolosi to the mat! Nicolosi manages to get full guard.

Growes is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Nicolosi is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Nicolosi has escaped and now he's on top!

Nicolosi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
The fight stays on the outside here - Nicolosi looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Nicolosi pulls Growes in close to prevent any damage.
Growes must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nicolosi dives in and grabs Growes's left leg, looking for a takedown. Growes pushes down on Nicolosi's head and hops out.

Nicolosi ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
