Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taoka steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Edwards.
Taoka uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Edwards.
Edwards fails to land the takedown.
Taoka throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Edwards's waist but Edwards gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Taoka off to one side.
Taoka throws a nice looking combination but Edwards bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Edwards misses with a body shot.

Taoka gets the takedown into side control.
Edwards is trying to get back to half guard.

Taoka tries for a kimura but Edwards is defending well.
Edwards is trying to improve his position.
Edwards gets back to half guard.
Taoka passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Edwards!

Taoka is working for a guillotine from mount but Edwards frees his head quite easily.
Edwards is squirming around, avoiding Taoka's attempts to control the action.
Edwards tries to hold on but Taoka postures up.
Edwards tries to get back to half guard but can't.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Edwards is working hard here to advance position.
Edwards is squirming around, avoiding Taoka's attempts to control the action.

Taoka working for a guillotine from mount but Edwards is in no mood to give up.
Edwards tries to hold on but Taoka postures up.
Edwards sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Taoka is thwarting Edwards's attempts to control the position.

Edwards is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Taoka pulls his head out easily.

Edwards looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Edwards tries to roll over but Taoka keeps him under control.

Taoka is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Edwards is just riding it out for now. Taoka eventually gives up the hold.
Well, if Taoka is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Taoka wants to free his trapped foot but Edwards is holding on for dear life with his legs.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
A telegraphed right hand from Edwards misses the target.
Some wild striking there from Edwards.
Edwards throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Taoka.
Edwards lands with a shot to the body.
Edwards lands a jab.
Edwards with a lazy takedown attempt

and Taoka counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Taoka drops back looking for a leg! Edwards is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Edwards manages to kick Taoka off! Taoka jumps back into Edwards's guard.

Edwards has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Taoka can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Taoka looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Taoka is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Edwards has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Edwards!
Edwards sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Taoka's guard.
Taoka is pressing down on Edwards's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Taoka manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Edwards manages to get himself to full guard.

Taoka is posturing up here but Edwards has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Taoka tries to roll out but it's too tight and Taoka has to tap! Slick submission there by Edwards!
