PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Bravo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Sundel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bravo comes to the cage accompanied by Break Stuff. Bravo has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johnny Bravo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Roger Sundel!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch combination from Sundel misses.
Sundel tries to bum rush Bravo with a series of wild strikes but Bravo uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Bravo takes a swing at Sundel's ribcage but misses.
Bravo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sundel tries to avoid it but Bravo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sundel to the ground. Sundel escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A chopping leg kick lands by Sundel.
Bravo is breathing heavily.
Sundel throws a series of punches but Bravo avoids them all with ease.
Sundel keeps the fight on the outside.
Sundel shoots for a double leg takedown but Bravo sprawls well. He's pushed Sundel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Sundel leaves Bravo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Bravo tries to clinch there but Sundel circles away.
Bravo takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Sundel fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sundel throws a sloppy head kick and Bravo moves out of range easily.
Sundel fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bravo avoids it really well and circles away.
Johnny Bravo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger Sundel.
Sundel shoots in for a takedown but Bravo shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Bravo keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Sundel shoots in and drives through. Bravo sprawls well.

Sundel rushes Bravo and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Sundel pulls Bravo into guard.
Sundel striking off his back but it's not causing Bravo any problems.
Bravo is fighting to break Sundel's control of his arms but Sundel is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Bravo tries to free his leg and advance position but Sundel is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bravo throws and elbow that misses. Sundel uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bravo's guard. Nice move by Sundel!

Sundel decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Sundel throws a nice outside leg kick.

Sundel closes the distance and clinches.

Sundel jumps into guard, dragging Bravo to the mat.
Bravo wants to control from the top but Sundel keeps moving.
Sundel controlling Bravo's posture.
Bravo trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Sundel kicks Bravo off and gets to his feet.
Bravo takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Sundel fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Bravo, pushing him back against the cage.

Sundel jumps guard.
Sundel is pulling down on Bravo's head to control his posture.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Sundel is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Sundel.
Sundel lands a nice knee to the body.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Bravo jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Sundel walks away with a smile on his face. Bravo gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Sundel moves into the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sundel drags the fight down to the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roger Sundel dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Sundel throws a sloppy body shot
and Bravo counters with a two punch combo.

Sundel takes the fight into the clinch.
A right handed body shot lands from Sundel.
Sundel is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Bravo pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Bravo gets underhooks to prevent Sundel's takedown attempt.

Sundel pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Johnny Bravo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sundel tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bravo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sundel somewhat.
Johnny Bravo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger Sundel.
Sundel shoots in for a double leg but Bravo sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bravo tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Sundel holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Bravo wants a takedown but no success here.
Sundel is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bravo gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Sundel breaks from the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Sundel shoots in and drives through. Bravo sprawls well.
Sundel shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bravo defends it nicely.
Bravo shoots in but Sundel avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Bravo is trying to break the clinch but Sundel is controlling him.
Sundel is pushing Bravo up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Bravo misses with a short punch on the inside.
Sundel taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Sundel fails to pull guard.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Sundel just misses with a elbow thrown towards Bravo's brow.

Sundel pulls guard successfully.
Sundel pulls Bravo in close to prevent any damage.
Sundel not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bravo trying to control the position from guard on top but Sundel is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Sundel bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bravo's guard.
Bravo thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Sundel pushing down on Bravo's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bravo is trying to stand up here but Sundel is controlling him well.
Sundel works his way into side control.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Bravo keeps Sundel under control for a moment.
Bravo trying to remain calm as Sundel controls from the top position.

Sundel tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sundel has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Bravo is trying to control Sundel's posture but Sundel avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roger Sundel showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Sundel manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Bravo won't allow Sundel to sweep him here.
Bravo is looking to work some ground and pound but Sundel has wrist control.
Sundel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

and Bravo counters with a solid body kick.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bravo fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bravo slaps away a takedown attempt from Sundel, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bravo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Sundel swivels and escapes.
Bravo tries a head kick but it misses.
Bravo throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Sundel gets a clinch.

Sundel jumps guard.
Bravo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sundel swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bravo wants to stand but Sundel has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Sundel is controlling Bravo's posture.
Bravo wants to pass the guard but Sundel is keeping the position.
Sundel controlling Bravo's posture.
Sundel bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bravo's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Bravo trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Sundel postures up.

Bravo is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Sundel is aware though and is defending well.
Bravo trying to keep a closed guard but Sundel is proving a slippery customer.
Sundel advances position into side control!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The ground and pound from Sundel seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

Roger Sundel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Sundel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
