The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rugova thows a body shot but no joy.

Xavier decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Xavier lands a nice short elbow.
Xavier thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Rugova to regain full guard.
Rugova wants to get back to his feet but Xavier is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Xavier stands and steps away. Rugova gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Xavier staying out of range there.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Xavier.
Rugova connects with a looping right hand.
Rugova throws a jab but it's blocked by Xavier.
Rugova connects with a single shot there.
Rugova throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Aleksander Rugova seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Xavier throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rugova's waist but Rugova gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Xavier off to one side.

Xavier shoots in for a takedown but Rugova shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Aleksander Rugova has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Barrington Xavier.
Rugova lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Rugova connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Xavier to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Rugova!
