Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alex Brannigan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chay Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Willis is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: As I Lay Dying - Through Struggle. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Chay Willis!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Ackerman and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brannigan tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Willis misses with a double jab.
Willis throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brannigan on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Willis throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Willis shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Brannigan defends it nicely.

Brannigan takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Willis clobbers Brannigan with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Brannigan gets caught flat footed, as Willis shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Brannigan is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Willis cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Willis can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Brannigan is looking to escape.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Willis bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Brannigan's head.

Willis lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chay Willis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
