Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dienekes the Brave (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Germano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). the Brave's entrance music is 300 Theme. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
the Brave fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
the Brave looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Germano is fending him off so far but the Brave persists. Nope, Germano circles away and we're back to standing.
Germano tries to close the distance and clinch up but the Brave swats him away and circles back towards the center.

the Brave tries to score a power double leg takedown but Germano sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten the Brave somewhat.

the Brave has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Germano avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Germano bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in the Brave's guard.
Germano lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Germano stands and throws the Brave's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Germano tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Germano has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Germano looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

the Brave tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Germano is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and the Brave defends it well.
Germano wants to advance to full mount but the Brave doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Germano is looking to stand up but the Brave isn't so interested in that idea.

the Brave wants to control from the top but Germano keeps moving.
Germano avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

the Brave shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Germano misses with a low kick as the Brave jumps back.
Germano throws a low kick but it's checked well by the Brave.
Germano keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Germano feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Germano drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Germano jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Germano is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Germano drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but the Brave manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Germano has the Brave in his guard.

the Brave is working Germano over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
the Brave throws and elbow that misses. Germano uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in the Brave's guard. Nice move by Germano!

Germano stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. the Brave swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Germano is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Germano extends the arm and the Brave is forced to tap!
