Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between kaylee barker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Dragon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Dragon has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, kaylee barker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Dragon!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dragon keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Dragon takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
barker tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
barker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dragon but Dragon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nice takedown defense from Dragon. No joy for barker on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for kaylee barker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dragon fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

and Dragon counters with a single leg into guard. barker didn't expect that.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dragon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
I looks like Dragon might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now barker is on top in guard.
barker stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Dragon swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Dragon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Dragon wants to control the position but barker says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
barker slows the pace down in half guard.

barker is working for a kimura but Dragon is defending it quite comfortably.

barker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and barker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

and Dragon counters with a nice double leg into side control. barker won't be happy with that.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Dragon in particular looking to stall.
Dragon blocks the strikes from barker.
barker pushes Dragon off looking to stand but Dragon dives back in and keeps control.

Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
barker is looking for a sweep. Dragon is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

barker connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dragon. Dragon circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
barker lands a head kick. Dragon smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

and Dragon counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Dragon.

so Dragon counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dragon won't allow barker to get back to his feet.

Dragon must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

barker manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
barker is in the full mount, landing strikes.
barker tries to control but Dragon wriggling away.
barker scores with a couple of good head shots there.
barker pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
barker postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Dragon looks a forlorn figure.

barker is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Dragon to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Dragon shrugs it off.
Dragon is looking to get to half guard.
barker scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Dragon is bucking up trying to escape but barker cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
barker scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Dragon?

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
barker lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

barker goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Dragon turns into him and now he's in barker's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Jack Dragon will probably get the nod - 10:9.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


barker lands a nice shot that snaps Dragon's head back.
kaylee barker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Dragon takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Dragon will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

barker wants to get back to striking at distance but Dragon won't allow it.
barker can't break the clinch.

Dragon wants the takedown. barker is fighting it off but Dragon persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in barker's guard against the cage.
barker wants to get back to his feet but Dragon is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
barker trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

barker lands with a heel strike from the guard.
barker looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dragon is one step ahead there.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now barker is on top in guard.
Dragon looking to control but barker passes into half guard.

barker stands up out of the half guard.
barker throws a head kick that misses.
Dragon takes one to the chin there.
barker tries a head kick but it misses.

barker misses with a wild combination.
No luck for Dragon with that takedown attempt.
barker looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
barker throws a body kick that misses.
barker cracks Dragon with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

barker closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dragon did well to prevent barker getting side control.
Dragon tries to get to full guard but barker has control of the leg.
barker looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Dragon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

barker keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. barker connects with a nice short shot to Dragon's temple.
barker wants to stand up but Dragon has a hold of him and won't allow it.
barker looks to land a strike but Dragon avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Dragon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jack Dragon is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
barker wants to control from the top but Dragon keeps moving.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
barker lands with a hook. Dragon tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
barker throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
barker scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
barker shoots and misses

and Dragon counters with a takedown into side control.
Dragon is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt barker will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

kaylee barker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Dragon is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. barker is trying to escape and Dragon transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and barker is forced to tap! Nice work there by Dragon! Very nice indeed!
