Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chris Kaizer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Uri!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, John Mangel and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Uri throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Uri tries to bum rush Kaizer with a series of wild strikes but Kaizer uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Uri misses with the combination.
Sam Uri seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Uri scores with a hook to the body. Kaizer takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Kaizer shoots in and drives through. Uri sprawls well.
Uri shoots and misses

and Kaizer counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Uri tries to get to full guard but Kaizer has control of the leg.
Uri is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Uri is looking to control Kaizer's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Uri avoid being mounted?
Kaizer is keen to just control but Uri is a slippery customer.
Uri controlling the position for now.
Kaizer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Uri keeps working.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Uri regains full guard. Nicely done.
Kaizer could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Uri tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Kaizer wants to pass the guard but Uri is keeping the position.

Uri manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Uri prevents Kaizer from getting the reversal.

Uri has control of Kaizer's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Kaizer regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Uri working for a submission but Kaizer is keeping him at bay.

Kaizer tries to hold on but Uri pushes him away.

Uri with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Uri looks gassed!

Uri throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Kaizer has his hands clasped together but Uri breaks the hold and Kaizer is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Uri!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Sam Uri!
