Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are William Gold, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burton lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as couture backs up against the cage.
It looks like john couture has been cut.
couture shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Burton as he avoids it easily.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
couture wants a takedown but no success here.
Burton stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Burton dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Burton has couture pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. couture manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Burton's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Fred Burton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burton fails with an attempt to clinch.
Burton tries to close the distance and clinch but couture swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
couture really is a fat lump.
couture tries to clinch there but Burton circles away.
couture swats away the attempt to clinch by Burton.
Burton instigates a clinch.
Burton goes for a takedown in the clinch but couture prevents it.
couture tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Burton smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for john couture. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Burton swats away the attempt to clinch by couture.
That's one minute gone in the round.
couture closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Burton to the mat! Burton manages to get full guard.
Burton is looking to stand up but couture isn't so interested in that idea.
couture looking to sit in guard and control but Burton gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
couture keeping moving, preventing Burton from controlling successfully.
couture wants to stand and escape but Burton is having none of it.
Burton is trying to land a reversal but couture doesn't like that idea too much. He pushed the legs to the side and dives into side control. He's managed to grab a loose arm triangle. couture is tightening it up though! This could be trouble for Burton! Burton trying desperately to escape but he's gone limp! He's out! Wooooorld class Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from couture!
