Vandrox comes to the cage accompanied by Embrace Of The Endless Ocean. Danny Vandrox could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to jd penn's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vandrox throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
penn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vandrox sprawls well. Vandrox wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. penn gets slowly back to his feet.
Vandrox stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vandrox wants it to stay on the feet.
penn fails to land the takedown.
Danny Vandrox has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of jd penn.
penn closes the distance and clinches up with Vandrox, looking for a takedown. penn pushes Vandrox against the cage but Vandrox circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
penn lands with some strikes.

Vandrox is squirming around, avoiding penn's attempts to control the action.

Vandrox is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst penn is controlling him.

Vandrox can't keep his opponent in guard - penn advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
penn is breathing heavily.
penn is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Vandrox is defending against the submission attempts here by penn.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
penn frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Vandrox is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Vandrox is in all sorts of trouble here.

penn trying to control but Vandrox is having none of it.
Vandrox is wriggling around trying to escape.

penn is working for a guillotine from mount but Vandrox frees his head quite easily.

penn is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Vandrox has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Vandrox's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Vandrox wants to control but penn is having none of it.

jd penn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Vandrox scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
jd penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
penn swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Vandrox counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
penn is trying to control but can't.

Vandrox misses with a head shot. penn uses the momentum to regain guard.

Vandrox is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! penn is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! penn has escaped and now he's on top!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
penn thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
penn tries to pass the half guard into mount. Vandrox knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vandrox looks like he's trying to stand up.
penn throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
penn looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

penn is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

penn trying to control the action but Vandrox is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Vandrox shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in penn's guard.
Vandrox wants to stand and escape but instead penn has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Vandrox knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for penn on the ground.
