The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Barsolo.
Barsolo fails to land with a series of punches.
A looping hook to the body misses from Barsolo. Alves does a little dance to reset his feet.

Alves clinches up against the cage.

Barsolo breaks the clinch.
Barsolo throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Barsolo looks to land a combination but Alves avoids it well.
Barsolo jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Alves moves away from the strike by Barsolo.
Barsolo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Alves lands a lovely overhand right.
Alves connects with a jab.
Alves stalks Barsolo and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Barsolo's face. Barsolo staggers backwards, shaken.
Barsolo misses with a combination
letting Alves counter with a right hand.
Barsolo ducks right into an uppercut from Alves.
Barsolo thuds his right hand into Alves's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Barsolo throws a left and a right that both miss
and Alves connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Alves fails with a takedown attempt.
Barsolo misses with a combination
and Alves counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Alves tries to score a power double leg takedown but Barsolo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Alves somewhat.
A right-left combo lands from Alves.
Alves connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Barsolo's hands.
Barsolo gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Alves is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Alves slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Alves throws a good cross that connects.
Barsolo is still on wobbly legs! Can Alves finish him?
Barsolo misses with a double jab
enabling Alves to counter with a crisp jab.
Tandi Barsolo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Alves drops Barsolo with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Barsolo! Alves dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
