The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Berg misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Parson misses with the combination.

Parson shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Parson prevents Berg from improving his position.
Parson sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Berg is trying to get back to full guard.
Parson wants to free his trapped foot but Berg is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Parson wants to lay and pray for a moment but Berg keeps working.

Parson tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Berg.
Parson prevents Berg from improving his position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Parson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Berg circles away.

and Parson counters with a stiff right hand.

Brock Parson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Eric Berg.

Berg drags the fight down to the ground.
Berg should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Berg isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Parson stacks Berg on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Parson!
Berg is trying to escape the position but Parson is controlling the position.
Parson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Parson tries to score with some ground and pound. Berg controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Berg wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land.

Parson decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Berg bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Berg is striking from the bottom but Parson uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.
Berg is pressing down on Parson's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Berg has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Parson should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Berg has tightened it up now! Parson should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
