PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between DJ Chaos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sam Watson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DJ Chaos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Watson!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chaos closes this distance looking for a takedown but Watson circles away.

Watson has managed to clinch.
Watson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Chaos has him pressed against the cage.

Chaos jumps guard.
Chaos seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Chaos manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Watson tries to hold on but Chaos postures up.
Watson is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Chaos stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Chaos fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Chaos closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Chaos lands in his opponent's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Watson is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Chaos is controlling him.
Chaos tries to free his leg and advance position but Watson is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chaos trying to control but Watson is working from the bottom.
Watson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Watson wants to stand and escape but Chaos is having none of it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Chaos fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for DJ Chaos. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Chaos feints and as Watson raises his hands in defense, Chaos changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Chaos stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Watson swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Chaos is breathing heavily.
Chaos slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Watson gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Chaos tries to control but Watson wriggling away.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chaos prevents Watson from getting the reversal.
Chaos can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Watson is looking to escape.
Watson wants to hold on but Chaos pushes him away.
Chaos throwing strikes here but Watson is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Chaos controlling from the full mount.
Watson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chaos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Chaos looking for a guillotine from mount but Watson is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Chaos moves to take his opponent's back.
Watson wants to get back to his feet.
Chaos throwing sloppy strikes.
Chaos punches the canvas rather than the man.

Chaos is persistently looking for the submission but Watson is defending it well.
Chaos tries to keep control of the position but Watson is staying busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

DJ Chaos dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Watson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Chaos bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Watson is not content to let Chaos control the position.
You can see the frustration on Watson's face as Chaos controls the position.
Chaos looks up at the clock and then as Watson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Chaos smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Chaos tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Chaos is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Watson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Watson wants to get back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Chaos tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Chaos has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Watson is trying to improve his position.
Chaos cracks Watson with an elbow. That is naaassty.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chaos advances nicely into full mount.

Chaos working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Watson turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Chaos off and cradles Watson's limp body as Chaos celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). DJ Chaos!
