Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eli Porter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Calzone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eli Porter has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Eli Porter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Robert Calzone!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Atkins and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Calzone clinches.

Calzone has hold of one of Porter's legs. Porter is fighting the takedown attempt but Calzone gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Calzone wants to stand but Porter has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Calzone is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Porter throws a looping overhand right but Calzone ducks down to avoid it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Porter tries to bum rush Calzone with a series of wild strikes but Calzone uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Calzone moves out of range as Porter throws a body kick.
Calzone avoids the body shot from Porter.
Calzone shoots in but no luck this time.

Calzone rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Porter moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Porter scores with a jab. Calzone acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Porter drops down looking for an ankle pick but Calzone pulls his leg out and moves away.

Porter throws out a loose jab but Calzone uses good head movement to avoid it.
Porter throws a hook to the side of Calzone's head but Calzone sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Calzone rushes Porter and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Porter fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Porter could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Calzone is trying to trip Porter. He has hold of a leg but Porter is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Calzone persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Porter is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Calzone must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Porter slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Porter throws a lazy right hand but Calzone sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Calzone fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Porter misses with a wild body shot.
Porter misses with a straight right.
Calzone moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Porter lands the left hand.
Porter jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Porter throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Porter loads up on a big right hand but Calzone slips the punch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Calzone dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Calzone closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Calzone lands in his opponent's guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Porter connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Calzone's hands.
Calzone lands with a kick to the temple. Porter shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Calzone shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Porter as he jumps to the side.
Calzone is trying hard to land a takedown here. Porter sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Porter has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Porter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Calzone's guard.

Porter has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Calzone off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

I would just about give that final round to Robert Calzone.
Well Calzone has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
