Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Smirnov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dimitri Kliment!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kliment closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smirnov circles away.
Smirnov throws a one two combo.

Kliment turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Kliment manages to end up in side control.
Smirnov wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Kliment is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Smirnov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Kliment is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Smirnov will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Smirnov chips away with some ground and pound.

Kliment throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Smirnov escapes and throws Kliment's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Kliment takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Smirnov lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Kliment down.
Kliment is trying to control Smirnov's posture but Smirnov avoids it.
Kliment is looking for a sweep.

Kliment regains half guard there - taking advantage of Smirnov's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Smirnov wants to pass to mount but Kliment is defending the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Smirnov throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kliment lets loose with a powerful body kick. Smirnov will feel that in the morning.
Smirnov swats away the attempt to clinch by Kliment.
Kliment throws a head kick that Smirnov semi-blocks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Dimitri Kliment will probably get the nod - 10:9.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Kliment paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Kliment has closed the distance and engaged Smirnov in a clinch.

Kliment's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Vladimir Smirnov.
I think Kliment has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
