Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hank Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hank Hill has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hank Hill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Smith!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Hill uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.
Hill shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense.
Smith takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
The fighters circling - Hill throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Hill moves away from the strike by Smith.
Smith looks to land a right hand but Hill moved out of range.
Hill keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Smith.
Hill shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Hill keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Smith misses with a straight right.
Hill tries to move into range but Smith moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Smith throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hill.
Smith blocks a jab.
Hill throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Smith fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Hill works Smith's body with a nice hook.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hill is defended easily by Smith.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hank Hill. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hill slips under a jab from Smith.

Smith throws a nice looking combination but Hill bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Smith misses with a straight left.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Smith!
Smith swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
John Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Smith misses with a straight right.
Hill looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Smith is fending him off so far but Hill persists. Nope, Smith circles away and we're back to standing.
Smith keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hill.
Hill misses with a looping left.
Smith avoids the body shot from Hill.

Hill scores with a takedown into Smith's guard.
Hill works a leg free and moves into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hill is pressing down on Smith's thigh, looking to free his foot. Smith is holding on for now.
Hill not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hill trying to mount his opponent but Smith defends it.
Hill trying to control from half guard but Smith is working away.
Hill looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Hill trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hill is really struggling to control Smith but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Smith looks to score with a jab to the body but Hill is just out of range.
Smith scores with a hook to the body. Hill takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Hill.
Hill moves forwards but Smith connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Hill defending well as Smith loads up on a big left hand.
Hill thows a left - swing and a miss!
Smith throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Nice takedown defense from Smith. No joy for Hill on that attempt.
Hill throws a sloppy body shot
and Smith counters with a stiff right hand.
Smith fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Hill on the side of the head.

Smith staying out of range there.
Smith throws a hook but Hill blocks it.
Hill ducks under a wild hook from Smith.
Hill takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hill slips a jab from Smith.
Smith connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Hill momentarily.
A big right from Smith misses.
Smith throws a jab but it's blocked by Hill.
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Smith scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Hill defending well as Smith loads up on a big left hand.
Smith slips a jab from Hill.
Hill throws a sloppy body shot
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Hill sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hill shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith pinned against the cage. Smith gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hill takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Smith dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Smith uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Hill.
Smith moves out of range as Hill strikes.
John Smith is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hill listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Hill avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Smith throws a right hand that Hill ducks under and follows up with a left that Hill also avoids with ease.
Smith lands a jab to the head.
Hill with a poor takedown
and Smith cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

A punch combination from Smith misses.
Smith displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Hill throws out the jab.
Hill blocks a jab.
Smith misses with a body punch

and Hill counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Hill.
Smith can't keep his opponent in guard - Hill advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Smith wants to get back to his feet.
Hill trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom.

Smith is defending against the submission attempts here by Hill.
Hill trying to control from Smith's half guard. Smith has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hill forces his way into half guard.
Hill is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Smith!

Hill jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Smith is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Smith and Hill has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Hill has knee on belly and moves into mount.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Smith wants to try and get back to his feet.
Hill tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Hill thowing shots but they're missing.
Hill punching from mount but Smith doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Hill can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Smith is looking to escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Smith trying desperately to get to his feet.
Hill tries to control but Smith wriggling away.
Smith prevents Hill from taking his back.
Smith is squirming around, avoiding Hill's attempts to control the action.
Smith is trying to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Hank Hill will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Donk. Hill catches Smith right on the button with a cross.
Smith's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Smith duly obliges.


It looks like Hank Hill has been cut.
Smith throws a hook to the side of Hill's head but Hill sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Hill closes this distance looking for a takedown but Smith circles away.
Smith misses with a wild body shot.
Smith throws a big shot that misses.
Smith swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Hill scores with a nice right hand.
Smith will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Hill fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Hill looks to score with a jab to the body but Smith is just out of range.
Smith might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Smith leaves Hill with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Hill throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Smith pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
John Smith seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Smith ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.

Hill gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Smith to counter with a crisp jab.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hank Hill. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Smith throws a jab when Hill was well out of range.
Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hill moves away.
Hill shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Hill with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Smith to score with a decent uppercut.
Smith throws a left and a right that both miss
enabling Hill to counter with a crisp jab.
Smith lands with an uppercut that bounces Hill off the cage and back into rage.
Smith throws a shot from downtown. Hill moves away and avoids it.
Hill scores with a shot to the body.

Hill throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Smith sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Hill shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smith as he jumps to the side.
Smith moves out of range as Hill strikes.
Smith throws a series of punches but Hill moves out of range.
Hill takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A big left from Smith misses.
Hill lands a jab to Smith's midsection.
Hill takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith throws a hook but Hill blocks it.
Smith lands with a right hand.
Hill cracks Smith with an open hand slap.
Smith uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Hill.
Hill with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Hill looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Hill lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Hill misses with a shot to the body
and Smith counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A jab from Smith does it's job there.
Hill jabs Smith right on the nose. Smith blinks but takes it well.

Hill throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Smith was covering up waiting for the punch and Hill finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Hill trying to control the position from guard on top but Smith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hill trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Hill wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.

Hill trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Smith manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!

Hill has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Smith can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hill has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Hill's legs - danger averted.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

John Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Smith has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
