Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Tepes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Paul Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vladimir Tepes!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Vladimir Khabensky and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tepes looks to throw the jab but Jones is out of range.

Jones moves into the clinch.
Tepes looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Tepes is pressed up against the cage. Jones has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tepes down to the mat. Tepes avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Tepes looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tepes tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Tepes wants to break free but Jones has control.
Jones keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Tepes's efforts to push away.

Jones pulls guard.
Tepes trying to stand up but can't free himself from Jones's guard.
Jones is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Jones keeping full guard, as Tepes tries to pass.
Jones manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tepes manages to get himself to full guard.
Tepes wants to stand up but Jones is controlling him.
Jones trying to control the position from guard on top but Tepes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jones stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Tepes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Tepes throws out a powerful jab.
Tepes throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jones avoids the body shot from Tepes.
Jones steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Tepes.
Jones uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Tepes.
Tepes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Vladimir Tepes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Tepes has Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Jones prevents Tepes from breaking the clinch.
Tepes gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Jones.
Jones keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Tepes's efforts to push away.
Tepes gets underhooks to prevent Jones's takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Paul Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Tepes wants to break the clinch but can't.
Tepes is looking to break free of the clinch but Jones has double underhooks.
Tepes is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Jones drops down looking for an ankle pick but Tepes pulls his leg out and moves away.
Tepes throws a shot from downtown. Jones moves away and avoids it.
Tepes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tepes throws a lazy right hand but Jones sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Tepes throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Tepes smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Jones fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tepes throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Tepes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Jones slips a jab from Tepes.
Tepes misses with a hook.
Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Tepes tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tepes manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Tepes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jones drives through with a takedown into guard.
Jones with a flurry of punches that miss.
Jones postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Jones is in close to Tepes's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Tepes wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it.
Tepes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jones stops Tepes from standing up.
Jones throwing strikes but missing.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Tepes is retaining full guard.
Tepes is looking to stand up but Jones isn't so interested in that idea.
Jones in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Tepes is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tepes throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
Jones avoids the body shot from Tepes.
The fighters circling - Tepes throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Vladimir Tepes is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tepes throws a nice looking combination but Jones bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Jones changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Tepes tries to avoid it but Jones manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Tepes to the ground. Tepes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jones shoots in but no luck this time.

Tepes instigates a clinch.
Jones tries to pull guard but Tepes won't allow it.
Tepes is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Tepes is trying to break free.
Jones drops down looking for an ankle pick but Tepes pulls his leg out and moves away.
Jones takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Jones is breathing heavily.
Tepes misses with a looping right.
Tepes tries to clinch but Jones moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Vladimir Tepes will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jones walks into a left hand.
Jones takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.


Jones is rocked!
Tepes measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Jones! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:14 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Vladimir Tepes!
