PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jose Luis Cantero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ibi Dikki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cantero comes to the ring accompanied by La mandanga. Dikki has chosen as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ibi Dikki!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cantero decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Dikki wants to get back to full guard.
Dikki misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Dikki tries to get to full guard but Cantero has control of the leg.

Dikki is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Cantero pulls his head out easily.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dikki rushes Cantero and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

Cantero jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dikki walks away with a smile on his face. Cantero gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Dikki stuffs the takedown attempt from Cantero. Cantero gets slowly back to his feet.
Cantero changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Dikki tries to avoid it but Cantero manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Dikki to the ground. Dikki escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jose Luis Cantero. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dikki shoots in and bounces Cantero off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.

Dikki postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cantero is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dikki, into his guard.

Dikki is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cantero defends well.
Dikki throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
No joy there for Cantero, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Dikki decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Cantero's guard.

Cantero is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Dikki wants to control from the top but Cantero keeps moving.

Dikki postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cantero is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dikki, into his guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Cantero shoots in and bounces Dikki off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.

Dikki escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cantero gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dikki wants to control position but Cantero is using a can opener to pass guard... He's turned it into a full on guillotine from mount now! Big trouble for Dikki here! He's turning a lovely shade of purple and yep! He's tapping out! I would say world class Jiu Jitsu but is it really? It was nice but let's not get silly about it.
