PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sam Squanch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saint Michaels (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Squanch's entrance music is Animal. A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Squanch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Saint Michaels!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Frank Dennis and Daniel Franklin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Squanch throws a series of punches but Michaels avoids them all with ease.
Squanch really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Michaels throws a nice inside leg kick.
Squanch stuffs the takedown.
Michaels swings for the body but Squanch moves out of range.
Squanch keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Michaels dives in and grabs Squanch's left leg, looking for a takedown. Squanch pushes down on Michaels's head and hops out.
Michaels tries to clinch up but Squanch circles away and keeps his distance.
Michaels fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Sam Squanch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saint Michaels.
Michaels throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Squanch's waist but Squanch gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Michaels off to one side.
Michaels takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Michaels shoots in for a double leg but Squanch sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Michaels looks gassed!

Squanch fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Michaels sprawls well initially but Squanch persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Michaels looks like he's trying to stand up.
Squanch controlling the pace.
Squanch will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Squanch prevents Michaels from improving his position.

Michaels has hold of Squanch's hands but Squanch slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Squanch has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Squanch works his way into side control.
You can see the frustration on Michaels's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Squanch lands a nice forearm strike.

Squanch lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Michaels down.

It looks like Saint Michaels has been cut.
Squanch looking to control and managing it successfully.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Michaels is rocked!

That has opened up Saint Michaels's cut even more.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Sam Squanch just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Squanch scores with a sloppy right hand. Michaels should have avoided that one.
Squanch lunges at Michaels with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Michaels's hand.

The cut above Saint Michaels's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Michaels closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Squanch connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Michaels tumbling to the canvas! Squanch pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Michaels was done - good stoppage!
